"It is with deep sadness and profound gratitude for his life of service that we announce the passing of Deacon Oscar Ball. He went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2026. Deacon Ball was a faithful servant who dedicated his life to the spiritual and physical care of his church family. James Williams Jones, also known as “Snap”, was born September 2, 1943. He was called to rest on July 9th, 2026, at the age of 82. Jesse was born on April 1, 1934, to the late Annie and George Hill.   Raised in Westmoreland County, he accepted Christ, was baptized, and joined Galilee Baptist Church in August 1946 at the age of 12. Dorothy Young Ball Jones, 97, of Kinsale, Virginia passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, at VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital, Tappahannock, Virginia. Dorothy was born on Monday, February 25, 1929, in Tucker Hill, VA to the late Henry and Daisy Ball. She was one of 14 children. She grew up in the Pekatone area of Westmoreland County where she was educated in the public school system.
