Albert Gray Obituary

Albert Gray departed this life December 16, 2024, at VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital, after a long battle with leukemia.


Albert was born to the late Homer Gray Sr., and the late Martha Ann Gray on July 8, 1948, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. He attended Westmoreland County Schools.

When Albert became an adult, he decided to travel. He moved to Florida and then decided to make Pennsylvania his home. Albert had two sons, Steven Romain and David Gray. He was married to the late Debra Gray. 

In his later years, Albert moved back home to Oldhams and joined Jerusalem Baptist Church. Albert enjoyed working on the farm. He also worked at Fort Meyer Construction in Washington D.C. He loved to dance and have a good time.

Albert later married Rose Kelly Gray. He had lots of friends in the community and family that he loved, especially spending time with them.

Albert leaves to cherish his memory his two sister, Iris Gray of Philadelphia, PA, and Darlene Gray of Oldhams, VA; brother, Lewis Gray of Landover, MD; his wife, Rose Kelly Gray; two sons, Steven Romain  and David Gray of Pennsylvania; twelve grandchildren: Steven Romain, Jr., Thalia Romain, Elijah Romain, Jeremiah Romain, Josiah Romain, Kayliana Romain, Quentin Romain, Camden Romain, Marcus Romain, Vince King, Lacey Cummingham, and Xavier Whiteside; special niece, Tameka Gray of Henrico, VA who he helped to raise; many nieces and nephews; and a host of special friends and family that he loved dearly.

A Funeral Service for Albert Gray has been RESCHEDULED for Thursday, January 9 at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Hague, Virginia.

Remains may be viewed from 11AM until service time on Thursday, January 9 at Jerusalem Baptist Church.
