Alfreda Dandridge

Born on September 1, 1973, to Lois Dandridge and Lee Veron Ball, Alfreda Sophia Dandridge’s life was defined by her devotion to family and her unwavering commitment to serving others. Her greatest earthly joy and crowning achievement was her son, Justin Pollard, whom she affectionately called “JP.” She poured her entire heart into raising him, always declaring him to be her true “gift from God.” She lived out the truth of Psalm 127:3, knowing that children are a heritage from the Lord, and her legacy of love will forever shield and guide him.

Alfreda, a woman of profound faith, boundless joy, and an enduring spirit of love, was called home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2026, following a brief illness. Just one day prior, on May 10, she celebrated the fulfillment of a lifelong dream by receiving her bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin College, completing an educational journey that began years earlier at Mary Washington University and Richmond County Public Schools (Class of 1991).

Alfreda’s career was an extension of her caring heart. Through her work at Northern Neck Insurance, Adkinson Insurance, and Assured Partners, she protected and guided families through life’s uncertainties. Her compassion also reached the vulnerable; she shared her warmth with the elderly through her time with Visiting Angels and by bringing the light of the gospel with her church family as they shared with local senior care facilities. Alfreda also worked at Pizza Hut, Best Western and The Tide’s Inn.

Answering the master’s call to ministry, Alfreda became committed to work of ministry which included servanthood and spreading the Good News. Her spiritual roots were planted early at Mulberry Baptist Church. Over the years, she grew in grace under various ministries, including New Jerusalem Baptist Church and Redeeming Love under Pastor Claude Tate. In March 2013, she answered the ultimate call and was licensed to preach at God’s Word in Action under the late Chief Apostle Karen Register Veney. She continued her journey for fulfillment by attending First Baptist Church in Loretto, and Zion Church at Lottsburg, ultimately finding her final spiritual home at For His Glory Global Ministries, where she was relicensed, equipped and prepared for the work of ministry under the leadership of Prophet David Brown, becoming the First Daughter of the ministry.

Minister Alfreda was a true reflection of Matthew 5:9: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” For she possessed a rare, God-given gift for encouragement, always knowing the exact words needed to heal a heavy heart. Her big heart, sharp wit, and infectious sense of humor brought endless laughter to everyone she met. She loved nothing more than to see people walking on “one accord” in divine love. Minister Alfreda birthed a women’s ministry within For His Glory called “WinGS” Women In God’s Service.

While her earthly absence leaves a profound void, her family takes comfort in knowing that her brief illness has passed, and eternal rest with her Savior is her ultimate reward.

Alfreda was greeted in heaven by her grandmothers, Inez Veney and Eloise Ball; her grandfather, John Russell; and her beloved brother, Tevin Ball.

Holding tight to her loving memories and carrying her legacy forward are her son, Justin “JP” Pollard; her mother, Lois Dandridge; and her father, Lee Veron Ball. She leaves behind eight siblings: Gaylen Ball (Linda), Juan Marcel Ball (Anna), Juanita Shantell Sydnor (Levern), Dennis Clayton, Charles Betts, Tawanda Betts (Bobby), Tony Clayton (Jackie), and Brandy Etheridge (Damon). Her memory will also be treasured by two special cousins, LaShay Ball and Tawanda Hayes, alongside a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Minister Alfreda’s life was enriched by deep, lifelong bonds. Holding her memory close are her special friends who were just like sisters: Pamela Ford, M.I.T. LaKeisha Noel, Minister Tammy Lee, Minister Crystal Hickman, Krystal Chatham, Virginia McCoy, and Sharon Croxton. Her Ministry siblings: Pastor Andy Veney, Minister Jackie Veney, Pastor Kevin Greham, Pastor Virginia Young, Minister Tiffany Berry, Minister Robert Noel, Minister Tammy Lee, Minister Keith Drummond, Minister Pamela Clark and M.I.T. Casey Dunaway. Prophetess Adraine Bibbens, her spiritual mother, her two cherished goddaughters, Denishia Scott and M.I.T. Tyrika Ford, along with her entire For His Glory Ministry family and community. One special friend that wore many hats and played many roles in her life, her ace, her partner in crime, her cut buddy, prayer partner, her go to, teacher, leader, pastor, prophet, covering, counselor and friend, David Brown.
