Anthony Redmond Obituary

(Weldon-Fisher Funeral Home does not own the rights to this song)

Anthony Cornelius Redmond was born on June 1, 1972, to Allen Redmond and Margaret Crabbe Nixon in Washington DC.  Shortly after his birth, Anthony moved to Forest Heights, Maryland with his family.

Anthony accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church in Kinsale VA.  Anthony received his formal education in Prince Georges County Public School System where he later found a love for Carpentry after going to trade school briefly.

Anthony, affectionately known to many as “Ant” or Tony, had a love for carpentry from that love he started from scratch his own company Carpentry Works; this company helped many businesses and homes come to life.  Anthony had a favorite saying “If it doesn’t make dollars it doesn’t make sense”; he lived by this statement. He was a problem solver that loved challenges. He took on difficult and unwanted projects and made spectacular creations from them.  Anthony loved spending time with his family, cooking on the grill & smoker, playing cards, and driving fancy cars while sporting one of his favorite Invicta watches.

Anthony quietly departed this life on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC. He was preceded in death by his father Allen Redmond; his mother, Margaret Crabbe Nixon; his maternal grandparents, John Neal & Margaret Crabbe; paternal grandparents, Jacob & Dora Redmond.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: son, DaLonta Harmon of Oxon Hill, MD; daughter, Ari’Anna Redmond of Oxon Hill, MD; stepson, DaiSean Harmon of Oxon Hill, MD; his sister, Alnetta Redmond of Kalamazoo, MI; brother, Michael Nixon Jr. of Suitland, MD; stepfather, Michael Nixon Sr. of Suitland, MD;  nieces, Chaquonta Smith(Irving), Makiya Nixon, Madison Stevens, Kayli Stevens, & Ava Nixon; nephew, Johntay Hoskin; uncles, James (Trisha), John, Charles, Wallace, and Criss (Tiffany); aunts, Myrtle Ann, Shug, and Linda (Samuel); along with a host of cousins and friends.
