Audrey Mae Jackson was born on August 6, 1955, to the late James and Mary Alice Green in Westmoreland County, Virginia. On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, God whispered to Audrey well done my good and faithful servant come home. Affectionately known as Magel she received her education in the Westmoreland County Public School system.
Audrey accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age where she became a member of Little Zion Baptist Church, Oak Grove, Virginia.
Audrey met Robert William Jackson in Westmoreland County and knew he was her soulmate. They were joined in holy matrimony in 1976 until his time of death.
Audrey was employed at West Potomac High School in Fairfax, Virginia until she retired in 2004.
Audrey had an infectious smile that would light up a room. She loved to cook for family and friends, watch TV, especially her favorite news channel CNN. She loved DEM Boyz and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Audrey leaves to cherish her loving memories; one son Vondell Jackson (Clarissa) of Stafford, VA; two brothers, James Green (Hedi) of Lebanon, PA, William Green (Janice) of Hague, VA; two sisters, Thelma Cook (Preston) of Montross, VA, and Dianna Newton (Cecil) of Colonial Beach, VA; one sister-in-law, Ella Plowden; three brothers-in-law, George Jackson (Sonia), Joseph Jackson, Sr. (Donna) and Kevin Jackson (Karen); three aunts, Thelma Saunders, Rose Marie Byrd and Evelyn Cox; one great aunt Alberta Byrd; four uncles, Marvin Jones (Ella Mae), Raymond E. Jones (Sue), Moses Jones, and Joseph Jones (Sarah); six grandchildren, Sabra Rose, Julius Manning Jackson, Nehemiah Jackson, Takeria Saunders, and Tasia Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friend Rhonda Levister.
Audrey is preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Alice Green, husband Robert William Jackson, two sons, Irving Green and Robert O. Jackson, two sisters Carolyn Wilson and Dorothy Wilson who transitioned three days after Audrey.
Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of the Little Zion Baptist Church, 7748 Leedstown Road, Oak Grove, Virginia.
Interment will follow in the Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Remains may be viewed from 10AM until service time on Friday at Little Zion Baptist Church.
Mandatory Mask and Temperature check will be required.
