It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Jean DeJesus, affectionately known as “Bobbie”. Born on April 7, 1952, in Colonial Beach, Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of Wilber Beverly and Eliza Tucker.
Barbara was a proud graduate of the Westmoreland County Public Schools Systems, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with love and dedication. She united in marriage with Julio DeJesus.
Barbara was employed at the Naval Surface Center for many years before embarking on a rewarding career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Her passion for helping others truly shone through her work, and she cared deeply for those she served until her health began to decline.
In her free time, Barbara found joy in playing Bingo and cherishing the moments spent with her beloved grandchildren. Family cookouts were a highlight of her life—she relished the taste of crabs, the joy of playing cards, and the lighthearted banter shared with family and friends. There was never a dull moment when Bobbie was around, especially during movie nights filled with laughter.
Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She taught us the importance of family, fun, and the little moments that create lasting memories.
Barbara Jean DeJesus will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and joy will continue to thrive in our hearts forever.
Barbara leaves to cherish her loving memories with her children: a daughter, Lena Miles; three sons, Gregory Turner, Paul Miles Jr. and Kevin Miles; three sisters: her twin, Bettey Frye, Maxine Smith, and Laverne Turner; fourteen grandchildren: Delshawda Turner, Alondra Anderson, Brionna Turner, Gregory Turner Jr, Jasmine Turner, Derrick Turner, Rochelle Davis, Treylion Graham, Treasure Graham, Mashalyn Miles, Paul Miles III, Trinity Dowler, Aaliyah Dowler, Jorell Dowler and Josiah Brooks; six great-grandchildren: Mesmorize Templeman, Addonis Turner, Gianni Turner, Milani Hackett, Eli Foster, Atreus Turner; special nephew, Robert Turner; special friends: Dalphine Toliver, and Shawna (Bea) and Sharon McDowney; and a host of nieces and nephews.
