Betty S. Smith

Betty S. Smith was born October 5, 1937, in North Carolina. On August 18, 2022, Betty transitioned from this earthly home to her eternal home in the Westmoreland Health and Rehab Center in Colonial Beach, VA.

Mrs. Smith, Mrs. B, Mom, Auntie as well as many other names that she was called by her family and friends. She was a kind and loving person, willing to help whomever and where ever she was needed.

Betty along with her husband, the late William “Bill” Smith, moved to Montross in the late 1960s, working in the field of landscaping. Shortly after establishing their home together, they opened the restaurant known as the Bunny Burger. This turned out to be a popular restaurant in the Montross area.

Mrs. Smith joined the Second Baptist Church in Warsaw, Virginia where she was a faithful and dedicated worker in the church, holding many offices.

During her lifetime, she had the opportunity to travel to different parts of the country and experience many diverse cultures. Betty and her husband gave of themselves generously to their community by raising and mentoring many children and family members to become adults that they were very proud of.

To describe her life would be to say, “Let the works that she has done speak for her.”

Home going Services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 12 Noon in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.

Interment will follow in the Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery, 20461 Kings Highway, Montross, Virginia.

Remains may be viewed on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, from 4PM until 6PM and from 11AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
