Brian Wood

Brian O’Neil Wood journeyed home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at VCU Health, Tappahannock, VA.

Brian was born on October 28, 1968 to Russell Leroy Wood, SR and Alice Clayton Wood. He was the second of three children born to this union. Brian liked to call himself “Zero”.

In his teen years, Brian confessed faith in Christ and joined Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Haden. He attended Washington and Lee High School and went directly into the working world at Warsaw Supermarket. He also worked construction jobs, O’Bier Seafood, C. Bailey Home Improvement and then onto Waste Management. He loved going to work and rarely missed a day. He met many, many friends from near and afar.

Brian loved hunting and drag racing. He was always a jolly person and hard to ever remember him being mad. Wherever Brian went, he was loved by all.

Brian loved his nephews, Devin and Darius, and anytime he had an opportunity to be in their presence, he was in his happy place. Going to the race track, social conversations and joking around was always a part of their routine.

Brianhad a special cousin, Carlette Campbell AKA Short Dawg, who was like a sister to him. They shared the same birthday and were like two peas in a pod. Whenever she was home you wouldn’t see one without the other. They would get together and cook like it was Thanksgiving. He will surely be missed by all.

A Funeral Service for Brian Wood will be held on Tuesday, December 10 at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of the Galilee Baptist Church, 20461 Kings Highway, Montross, Virginia.

Interment will follow in the Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery.

The viewing will be on Monday, December 9 from 4PM until 6PM in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME and from 11AM until service time on Tuesday, December 10 at Galilee Baptist Church.
