Shawntae Odette Sharpe affectionately known by many as Busy Bumbee, Shawny, Dummy, and Tator. On Sunday, April 2, 2023, God extended his almighty hand of love and gently took her to a home of joy, peace, and happiness. She was born on November 25, 1973 to Betsy Sharpe Lofton and the late Sam S. Sharpe, Sr. She was the oldest of seven children.
She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and later joined Little Zion Baptist Church. She attended Westmoreland County and Richmond City Public Schools.
Shawntae was a people person. Her passion was cooking, babysitting and being the neighborhood Beautician. She also enjoyed braiding hair but her favorite style was the French Roll. She would use toilet paper, socks, or anything else to make that French Roll hold.
Shawntae was proceeded in death by her husband, Dwayne Eddings; her daughter, Relissa Eddings; and a long term companion, Daryl L. Griffin.
She leaves to cherish four sons: Travonti Sharpe, Jeffery Pittman, Ramani Goode, and Dwayne Goode; three daughters: Talaya Newman (Devaughn), Rynesha Goode, and Rodnay Eddings; nine grandchildren; five brothers: Yoneko Sharpe (Africanus), Sam Sharpe, Jr., Nepolean Sharpe, Galadreia Sharpe (Tania), Cabot Sharpe; one sister, Shayla Newman (Dwayne); the Matriarch of the family her grandmother, Alberta R. Byrd; four aunts: Phyllis Jett (Maurice), Sandra Johnson (Linwood Sr.), Edith Sanderlin (Richard), Victoria Williams; two uncles, Gregory Byrd,Sr. and Jerry Sharpe,Sr; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and extended family Aldenette Griffin and Family.
***CHANGE IN SERVICES*** Funeral Services for Shawntae Sharpe will be held on Wednesday, April 19 at 1PM in the sanctuary of the Little Zion Baptist Church,7748 Leedstown Road, Oak Grove, Virginia.
Interment will follow in the Little Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Viewing will be on Wednesday , April 19 from 11AM until service time at Little Zion Baptist Church.
