Charles "Esau" Wright, Sr., departed this life on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. 

Charles Esau Wright Sr. (fondly known to everyone as Esau) was born on May 2, 1946 to the late Charlie Wright and Lucy Taylor. On March 9, 2022, Esau departed this life at Westmoreland Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Colonial Beach, Virginia. At an early age, he came to know the Lord and joined Salem Baptist Church. He was educated in the Westmoreland County Public School System.

He worked in the seafood industry all his life. Eventually, he ended up running his own seafood business, J & J Wright Seafood. Esau loved working and worked up until his time of passing. In 1993 Esau wed Jacqueline Wright. They were blessed with two children.

Esau was preceded in death by his parents; one sister Alice Wright; and two brothers Tommy and Curtis Wright.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Jacqueline Wright; one son, Charles Wright-Carter (Eric); one daughter, Lisa Wright; three step-children, Adrienne Scott (Rodney), Karen Wright, and Jevon Wright; grandchildren, Leah Hall and Jeremyah Carter; step-grandchildren, Brittany Johnson, Tavon Wright, DeVonte Wright, Brandon Jennings, Zae Wright, and Natalie Wright; four great grandchildren; four sisters Emily Ann Usual (whom he considered his 2nd mother), Dorenda Wright, Diane Taylor, and Cindy Muslin; seven brothers William “Chick” Wright, Herman Wright (Connie), Earl Wright, Roland Wright (Galanda), Paymus Taylor Jr., Steven Taylor, and Lawrence Taylor; two aunts, Rachel Ann Brooks and Mildred Ashton; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; faithful friends, Darius Fauntleroy, Troy Henderson, and Mitchell Hackett

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 11AM in the sanctuary of the Salem Baptist Church,1310 Erica Road, Montross, Virginia.

Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Remains may be viewed from 4PM until 6PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022, in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME, and from 10AM until service time on Friday at Salem Baptist Church.
