Donald “Blup” Jones was born on October 24, 1967, in Westmoreland County, Virginia to the late Lou Ella Clayton Jones Cooper and James Cooper.
Donald was educated in Westmoreland County public schools and received his GED in Job Corp. He found employment as a mechanic.
He was truly a quiet, easygoing guy. Donald’s favorite quotes were, “I ain’t got no cut cards” and “I am who I am.”
His hobbies were fishing, playing cards, and he loved cars. He loved his family and always wanted to lend a helping hand until his health began to fail in 2018.
Left to cherish his memories are his children: Richard Mitchell, Michael Anthony Brown, Tyquan Brown, Jerrick Brown, and Dontrell Johnson; grandchildren: Keniya, Kayla, Kaydence, Jeremiah, Maliah, and Makenzie; two brothers, Avery Jones and Lewis Turner; four sisters: Francene Braxton, Phillis Parker, Carolyn Jones, and Julie Carter; his life long partner, Annie Brown; his life long friends, Pastor Malcolm Lee and William Johnson aunts and uncles: Harvella Clayton, William Clayton, and George (Sambo) Clayton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Funeral services for Donald Jones will be held on Friday, April 21 at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of Zion Baptist Church, 1274 Zion Church Road, Kinsale, Virginia.
Remains may be viewed from 10AM until service time on Friday, April 21 at Zion Baptist Church.
