Elizabeth Larry- Woodson

Elizabeth Larry-Woodson was born April 11, 1949. She entered her eternal life on Monday, May 24, 2021, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

She attended the Brooklyn school system, from elementary school she attended PS32, middle school IS 293, and high school Prospect Heights. She had multiple professions through out her life. She worked at the plastic factory, then moved on to work as a 911 dispatcher. She saw her life as a caregiver and made the change to DHS. She worked at Bedford Atlantic Men’s Shelter for 12 years as a maintenance worker. She promoted and transferred to a family shelter where she became the Intake Manager at Aurburn Shelter.  This job was her last position before retiring.

Elizabeth Larry-Woodson was joined in holy matrimony to Russell A. Woodson on June 4, 2003. This union brought no children, but they shared six kids together.

Elizabeth Larry-Woodson, was a strong loving and caring woman who was the matriarch of her family. She had many friends and four siblings that she succeeded. She was born to Elder Robert Larry and Marry Ann Ealey. She was the oldest child of five children; Robert (Jako), Benjamin, Cossette, and Dorothy who all have passed on.

She was a dedicated mother to her three children, Michelle Elizabeth Gayle, Abdul eas lll Ali, and Eric Larry-Pittman. She was blessed twice to become a dedicated Grandmother to her daughter’s children, Akia Michelle Gayle, Roxanne Elizabeth Gayle, Latoya Danielle Gayle, Tonya Denise Gayle-Brooks, and grandson-in-law, James Brooks.

She leaves to celebrate her life daughter, Michelle Gayle; sons, Abdul Ali and Eric Pittman; 14 grandkids, Akia Gayle, Roxanne Gayle, Latoya Gayle, Tonya Gayle, Eric Larry Jr., Aliyah Ali, Abdul Ali, Malaysia Ali, Kamel Ali, Kalia Ali, Erica Larry, Brooklyn Larry, Zhyasia Johnson, and Jayden Pittman; 9 great-grands, Natavia, Eleasia, Andrea, Zaire, Jaylen, Jalaya, Janiah, Lamiaya, and Jakobi; nieces and nephews, Allen, Lamont, Tarsha, Yolodia, and Robert Jr.; James Woodson (Russell’s father, deceased); Jeannette Woodson-Carter (Russell’s mother, deceased); Edward Woodson (Russell’s brother), Richard Woodson (deseased); Karen Woodson-Norris, James Woodson Jr. (deceased); Roberta Woodson-Hill; George Woodson, and Ronald Woodson.

Elizabeth was loved dearly by all of the Woodson family and all are saddened by the loss

Funeral service for Elizabeth Larry-Woodson of Hague in Westmoreland County, Virginia will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11AM in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.

Interment will be in the Lively Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 1550 Lively Hope Road, Callao, Virginia.

Her remains may be viewed on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 5PM until 7PM and on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 10AM until service time in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.
