Enos Verdell Winder, Jr. was born on May 8, 1969, to the late Enos Winder, Sr. and Donna Gant-Smith.
Lovingly known as Tiny, he began his education in Prince George County Schools and later graduated from Anacostia High School in Washington DC and furthered his education at the Lincoln Technical Academy. After completing his education, Enos relocated to Virginia where he met his soulmate and was joined in holy matrimony to Terria Johnson on May 1st, 1999.
Enos began working at Carry-On Trailer and later at Newport News Shipbuilding as a welder. With great determination, he worked hard in order to advance his career for his family. In 2004, he began working at WMATA, where he worked in structure repair and rose through the ranks to become a Supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and later Assistant Superintendent. He faithfully served in this position until he departed this world on March 29, 2025 at Washington Hospital Center at the age of 55. His dedication to his work was matched only by his passion for life.
Enos loved playing the congas, cracking jokes, grilling, and sharing meals with loved ones. His infectious smile, optimism and his ability to find the good in any situation inspired those around him and ultimately led him to author a book called “Whose Plan is it? The Beginning Part 1”.
Enos attended church at an early age with his mother and grandmother. As he matured in Christ, he began to attend Emmanuel Christian Fellowship Church in Warsaw, Virginia under the leadership of Pastor Michael Taylor, where he shared his love for music by playing the drums and congas as music director. (Joe Jackson, as Tammy would say!) After relocating to King George County, the family began attending The Land of Promise with Dr. James King. Under his tutelage, he continued to grow spiritually and was committed to perfecting the calling that was on his life with the music ministry as well as sharing the word of God with family and friends.
Enos is preceded in death by his father, Enos Winder Sr.; son, Shane Hickman; uncle, George Winder; and aunt, Norma Taylor.
Enos is survived by his wife, Terria Winder; mother, Donna Gant-Smith; father-in-law, Luther Johnson (Rebcca); children, Michael Johnson (Amanda), Shynarra Winder, Donavon Winder, and Collin Winder; grandson, Legacy Winder; siblings, Calvin Gant (April), Vanessa Smith, and Dominique Linton (Danny); brother and sisters-in-law: Garry Johnson (Paulina), Cassaundra Crenshaw (Todd), Angie Taylor (Cecil), Linda Johnson-Conaway, and Pam Taylor (Michael); Joana Figueroa (Miguel); aunts and uncles, Geraldine Wise (Larry), Donald Gant.
