Ethel Mae Weldon was born on February 3, 1943, to the late Martha Ann Nelson Page and Booker Smith. She transitioned to be at home with the Lord on January 1, 2022.

She received her education from the Old Mudd Ridge School in Coles Point, Virginia. At an early age, Ethel accepted Christ as her personal Savior and became a member of Potomac Baptist Church. There she remained an active member until her health began to decline.

She was employed at Dean’s Seafood and as a housekeeper for the Coates, Fairfax, Straughn, Sanford, Walker, and Welch families for over 50 years. Ethel also encountered 40 years of friendship with her favorite daughter-in-law, Ester.

Left to cherish her fond memories are her sons, James (Janice), Louis (Ester), and daughter, Dolly (Charles); grandchildren: Mellissa, Sherri, Keyshera, James, Dorrell, Louis Jr., James, Kimberly, Ashley, and Jennifer; one uncle, Ralph Jones of Waldorf, MD; one aunt, Hazel Crabbe of Montross, VA; her life-long companion, Charles Thompson (Froggy) of Neenah, VA; and many extended family and friends.

A special “Thank You” to her caregivers, Dolly, Angela Page, and Amy Brown who cared for her until the end.
