On April 21, 1997, Eugene Lee Tate, affectionately known as 702 Country Boy, was born in Prince George’s County, Maryland to Carl Sr. and Faustina Tate.
At the age of one he became a native of Westmoreland Co., VA. He began his education with Westmoreland County Public Schools and Class of 2015. At an early age Eugene accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and became a member of Potomac Baptist Church where he sung on the youth choir.
At the early age of 7 Eugene with his father’s guidance gained knowledge of how to operate farm equipment, farm trucks, plant and harvest crops. Later he was employed by Virginia Department of Transportation in Lottsburg VA, Nutrien Ag Solutions in Warsaw, VA and returned to work with his father of Tate Trucking Inc. of Hague VA. Eugene enjoyed many things such as hunting, fishing, dirt bikes and family fun times.
In a troubled world he provided those who knew him with guidance and words of encouragement while bringing happiness and respect to those around him. On May 18th, 2022, Eugene Lee Tate was called to eternal rest.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories to his parents, Carl Sr. and Faustina Tate; daughter, Amelia Davel Tate; soulmate, Amber Boyer; three sisters; Lisa (Anthony Sr.), Karen, Tosha (David), step-sister; Tammie Howcott; two brothers, Carl Jr. (Avante), Tyrone Lewis; four nephews, Anthony Jr., Antwan, Tyler, and Taurean; two nieces, Olivia and Jacelyn; two grandmothers, Elizabeth Johnson and Helen Tate; two great aunts, Hilda Lewis and Geraldine Hudson; great uncle, John ( Elizabeth) Tate; six uncles, George (Marie) Tate, William Sr. ( Wanda) Tate, Louis ( Lucille-deceased) Snowden, Joseph Johnson, Gerald Johnson, Terrence Sr. (Dawn) Johnson; five aunts, Faith Fennell ( Ray), Theresa Scott (Derek), Florence Phillips, Delores Dixon ( John-deceased), Marie Gaskins (John-deceased); special friends he called “The Bros”, and a host of cousin and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his two grandfathers, George E. Tate Sr. and George H. Johnson; great aunt, Bertha Parker; uncle, George E. Johnson; and cousin, Jonathan Tate.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 12 Noon at Potomac Baptist Church Cemetery, 6099 Nomini Hall Road, Hague, Virginia.
Remains may be viewed from 4pm until 7pm on Friday, May 27, 2022, in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME and from 11am until service time on Saturday at Potomac Baptist Church Cemetery.
