Felix Redmond

.Felix B. Redmond, a longtime resident of Montross, Virginia, passed away at the Veteran Administration Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on March 29, 2022.

Felix was born on March 04, 1936 in Louisa County, Virginia. He was the first in his family to attend and graduate from college. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from George Washington University. He also graduated with a Master’s in Taxation from Southeastern University, in Washington D.C.

He served his county in the United States Army and attained the rank of Corporal during his three (3) year stint of military service. After leaving the Army, he worked for American Armed Forces Mutual Aid Association until he retired. Prior to retiring, he started his own business, and at the time of his death, he was the CEO of Tax Accounting & Financial Services, Inc. He was a former Supervisor with the Westmoreland Board of Supervisors. He also taught Accounting at Smith’s Business School in Washington, D.C., and Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw, Virginia.

Felix liked fishing, watching Western movies, and spending time with family.

Felix was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor; his father, Thomas; his sister, Frances; his sons, Felix Jr. and Tyrone; and daughter, Bonita.

Felix is survived by his wife, Janet; stepdaughter, Laverne; stepson, Wayne; granddaughter, Tyloria; grandsons, Omar, Pakawa, Comanche, and Tyrek; great-granddaughters, Leinya, Aisha, and Omara; cousins, Eleanora and Larry and others; and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10AM in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, 3364 Lindsay Road, Gordonsville, Virginia.

Remains may be viewed from 4PM until 6PM on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the funeral home.
