Grace Yvonne Plummer

Grace Yvonne Plummer was born September 14th, 1948, in Acorn, VA to the late Phillip and Julia Plummer. She peacefully gained her wings on March 24th, 2021, after a brief battle with ALS at her son’s home in Maryland with him and his wife by her side.

She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Kinsale, VA. Grace graduated from A.T. Johnson High School in Montross, VA, Class of 1968 and continued to participate in her class activities over the years.

After graduating, she moved to Maryland and worked as a Health Care Specialist for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield in Washington, DC.  She retired in January 2014 after over 40 years of service and then moved to Tappahannock, VA.

Grace enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family.  She loved her nieces and nephews like they were her own children, and always attended their graduations, weddings, and special events.  She always had encouraging, positive words to share with them and her friends throughout their lives.  

She leaves to cherish her memory one son Arnold Plummer (Raenell); two grandsons, Justin Plummer and Antoine Dunn, and one granddaughter, Tyler Plummer, all of Maryland; one brother, Rev. Jacob Plummer (Helen), and two sisters, Dorothy Plummer, and Mary Plummer (Lawson), all of Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Two special friends are Rev. Dr. Alice Thompson and Margie David. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters.

Home going services for Grace Plummer will be held on Saturday, April 3,2021 at 12 Noon at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 2404 Nomini Hall Road, Hague, Virginia.

Remains may be viewed from 10AM until service time on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Jerusalem Baptist Church.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the DC/MD/VA Chapter of the ALS Association.
