Mr. Lawson Edward Plummer affectionately known as “Boo” was born to the late Rosie Plummer and George Plummer on December 3, 1945. Lawson peacefully entered into rest on March 15, at Lancashire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with his daughter, Latasha and long-time companion, Mary by his side.
Lawson received his education through the Westmoreland County Public School system. He entered into the workforce at an early age where he held a few jobs until he was employed with Carlton and Edwards for 35 years until he could no longer work. Lawson gave his life to the Lord at an early age and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. He knew and had a relationship with God, and you could find him day or night at his kitchen table with his Bible open reading the Word.
Lawson loved his sports of wrestling, racing, baseball where his favorite team was the New York Yankees, and football where he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan. You could catch him at the shop or under the tree at Burtons Corner or down at Jacks doing what he does best, talking. He enjoyed watching his western on the television and reading the Bible. If you ever experienced Lawson you know he could be stubborn but he had a good heart and loved his friends and family dearly.
Lawson is preceded in death and reunited with his parents Rosie and George Plummer, siblings Shirley, Rosie, George, and Russell.
Lawson leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy, his longtime companion, Mary Plummer; two sons, Cornelius Plummer (Sherron), Houston, TX, George Plummer (Kimberly), Oldhams, VA,; a daughter, Latasha Plummer, Hague, VA; seven grandchildren: Kierron, Ciara, Trinity, Jahki , Julius, Jenesis, Jatory; two great-grandchildren, Kaliana and Ashtyn; one sister, Sallie Burrell (John) Oldhams, VA; brother-in-law, Walter Garner, Maryland. Lawson had special friends that he thought highly of and respected, Carl Garner, Gatewood Gaskins, Anthony Hall, Sam “Spider” Dean. He has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends that loved and adored him.
Funeral Service for Lawson E. Plummer will be held on Friday, March 24 at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of Jerusalem Baptist Church, 2404 Nomini Hall Road, Hague, Virginia.
Interment will follow in the Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Remains may be viewed from 4PM until 6PM on Thursday, March 23 in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME and from 10AM until service time on Friday at Jerusalem Baptist Church.
