Our beloved Lewis Lomack Brimmer was called home to be with the Lord on September 17, 2021, at his home in Sandy Point, Virginia. He was born on July 27, 1955, to the late David
and Golden Marie Brimmer.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers Harold, David, and Jimmy Brimmer.Lewis attended Essex County Public Schools.
He joined New Liberty Baptist Church at an early age and later became a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church of Hague, Virginia.
He was united in holy matrimony to Joann Byrd of Battery, Virginia, and to this union two children were born.
“Dick or Big E” as he was fondly called, had a warm personality which touched all the people that came in contact with him.He enjoyed playing baseball, softball, and fishing. He worked
for UCI Construction where he was a foreman for many years. After doing construction work, he founded his own business named B&B masonry. Lewis also worked for Phoebis electrical
services of Waldorf, Maryland.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Joann Brimmer; one son, Michael Brimmer Sr. (Nicole) of Tappahannock, VA and one daughter, Tamela Bond (Doug) of Fredericksburg, VA;
five grandchildren: Devonte Laws, Mekhi Brimmer, Yazmyn Brimmer, Michael Brimmer Jr., and Biannca Beasley; four great-grandchildren: Devyne and Princeton Laws, Kennedi and Kenden Beasley Jones; one brother, Peter Brimmer of Tappahannock, VA; two sisters: Ellese Veney (Payton) and Ella Brimmer both of Tappahannock, VA; four nieces: Lisa Johnson, Monica Young, Michelle Veney, and Marquita Brimmer; one nephew, Javon Brimmer; four uncles: Bobby (Glossie), Arthur (Janet), James, and Travis all of Tappahannock, VA; two godsons: Ifrain and Daniel Smith.
He also leaves to cherish a loving, devoted companion of over twenty years Elizabeth Jones and a host of friends and family.
Funeral service for Lewis L. "Dick" Brimmer will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11AM in the sanctuary of the Jerusalem Baptist Church 2404 Nomini Hall Road, Hague, Virginia.
Interment will follow in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, 33030 Sparta Road, Milford, Virginia.
Mr. Brimmer may be viewed (Mask Required) from 4PM until 6PM on Friday, September 24, 2021 in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME and from 10AM until service time on Saturday at Jerusalem Baptist Church.
