Mother Lou Willie Hall beloved mother of Bishop Donn Hall of Zion Baptist Church, Kinsale, Virginia passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022.
Mrs. Lou Willie Hall was born on March 19,1932 to the late Elijah and Rose Anna Quarles of Bienville. Louisiana, baptized at an early age and served as a member to the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
As an adult, Mrs. Hall was truly a pioneer in her service to her community and to God. Her legacy includes decades of membership with the Union Star Missionary Baptist Church (U.S. M.B.C.) where she established the first Youth Ministry, served as the Director of Vacation Bible School, and served as the Church Clerk through 3 administration and served in the Deaconess, Mission, Usher and Senior Choir Ministries. She served in the North Louisiana Baptist Association, teaching the first ever Christian Education for Women curriculum. She is also the founder of the North Louisiana Baptist Association Youth Scholarship Fund.
A renowned seamstress, Mrs. Hall created looks for the North Louisiana Baptist Association Youth Scholarship Fund Pageant, the Ms. New York Beauty Pageant, the Ms. Grambling State University Beauty Pageant and several other events local to the community. She is one of the founders of the Shady Grove High School Reunion and is a faithful sister, conferred by all 5 Degrees in the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Hall served as the First Lady of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Jamestown, Louisiana; Mt Elam Baptist Church in Heflin, Louisiana and Mezpaz Baptist Church in Columbia, Louisiana working with the Mission, Women’s, and Youth Ministries.
She will be forever loved and remembered by some as “the lady with the candy store”, “Maw-Maw”, “Mother Hall” and “Mrs. Lou Willie.” To her grands, she’ll always be granny and to her nieces and nephews; she is known as “Auntie.” Loved as mother by her children, adored by her husband as his wife; but her most humbling achievement was God who called her servant and led every part of her life.
She has 6 brothers 5 sisters, 1 Husband (Min. Fred A. Hall, Jr) 1 daughter (Min. Beverly Cooper) 1 son-in-love (Pastor Charles E, Spinks) 2 grandsons
(Edward Fitz-Gerald Spinks) and (Eric Montez Hall ) that proceeded her. She leaves to cherish her infinite wisdom 3 children, Min, Jewel Spinks, Reston, VA Min. Freddie Hall Baytown TX, Bishop Donn R. Hall Jr. (Shirley Hall) Kinsale VA., and a host of grands, great-grands, great-great grands, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022, from 6PM until 730PM at Union Star Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Louisiana
Celebration of Life Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 11AM at Union Star Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
