Neenah Louise Campbell

Neenah Louise, the oldest of twins and the fifth child born to Verna Smith Ashton and Walter Ashton in Drum Bay (Travelers Rest), Virginia on December 20, 1945.

At an early age, Neenah joined Bible Way Apostolic Church of PAW in Hague, Virginia. She attended Salem and Cople-Montross Elementary School and A. T. Johnson High School, graduating in 1966.

In 1969, Neenah married Floyd Campbell gaining 6 bonus children. She was overjoyed to enlarge and blend their family with Marcus and Martida.

Neenah loved to shop, visit family, and enjoyed talking with her siblings.

After 36 years, Neenah retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigations in Washington, D.C. Upon retirement, she relocated to Allenbury in Hague. She briefly worked part-time at the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office and as a substitute teacher in Westmoreland County public schools.

Neenah’s presence will be sorely missed by those surviving her: son, Marcus Campbell (Dana); daughter, Martida Jackson (Keith); bonus children: John Wayne, Floyd Jr., Raymond, Joyce Ann, Burnestine, and Michael; her special friend who brought her much joy, Walter Jones; grandchildren: Taylor Jackson, Marcus II, Marquis Campbell, and Brooke Jackson; her siblings: Emma Usual, Mary Newton (Lucius), Mabel Henson, James Ashton, Sr. (Marian), Annie Gaskins (her twin), Marie Tate (George), and Blanche Jones; nephews, James Ashton II (Nikkia) and George Tate; nieces: Vernetta Gaskins, Brenda Carey (Wayne), and Quinton Jones; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family & friends.
