Oscar F. Burrell was born on May 1, 1938, in Westmoreland County, Virginia to Oscar and Stella Burrell. He departed this life on January 31, 2024, at VCU Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
After retirement, he moved back to Westmoreland and enjoyed rebuilding, repairing, or creating at every opportunity that presented itself.
Oscar received his education in the Westmoreland County public school system. He was a man of many talents and worked as a welder, metal
fabricator, and laborer for many decades.
Oscar, affectionately known as Junior, had a sense of humor. He had a passion for automobiles, ice cream, pocket t-shirts, trucker hats, and loved working with his hands.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Zion Baptist church.

He was preceded in death by his father Oscar Burrell, mother Stella Burrell, five sisters: Mary Lou Jackson, Winnie Wilson, Barbara Robins, Clorice Kelly, Gloria Burrell, two brothers: Leonard Johnson and James Cortney; and his wife Ruth Burrell.
Wonderful memories will continue to linger in the hearts of his son Dennis Burrell (wife Margaret Burrell), granddaughter Toni Burrell, two sisters: Linda Henry and Wanda Burrell, one brother-in-law Benjamin Henry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Funeral Service for Oscar F. Burrell will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 11AM in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.
Remains may be viewed from 10AM until service time on Saturday, February 17 at the funeral home.
