Pastor Wilson Obituary

Pastor Connie Mae Wilson was born February 1, 1957, in Westmoreland County, Virginia to the late Rev. William Brooks and Mary F. Brooks. Connie was educated in the Westmoreland County Public Schools and graduated from Washington and Lee High School. Connie accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church, Kinsale, Virginia.

On May 21, 1978 she was united in holy matrimony to Ricky Wilson, whom God blessed with 44 years. She was employed with the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics in Washington, DC where she retired after 32 years of service. She and Ricky travelled daily together to work in Washington, DC for most of those years.

Connie loved the Lord and had a calling on her life. She was licensed to preach the gospel in October 2005, under the leadership of Apostle Donn Hall, Sr., Zion Baptist Church in Kinsale, Virginia. In July 2009, both Connie and Ricky were ordained by Apostle Donn R. Hall, Sr.
 
In February 2010, the Community of Light Ministries was birthed in Hague, Virginia. Pastor Connie and Apostle Ricky ministered side by side at Community of Light Ministries. They were a powerhouse team put together by God. 

Pastor Connie believed pastoring was one of the greatest and most precious gifts and assignments in the kingdom. God had placed a mandate on her life to lead those who were bound and held captive in their minds to be saved, delivered, and set free. She pastored some Connie had a love and passion for God’s people and strongly believed that “Everybody is Somebody.” On March 8, 2023 Pastor Connie’s work was done and God called her to eternal rest. 

Pastor Connie leaves to cherish her memory: Her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Ricky Wilson; one son, Daimontai; one granddaughter, Alasia; three brothers, William Brooks (Akemi) of Fallbrook, CA, Whalen Brooks of Hague, VA, and Ronald Brooks of Upper Marlboro, MD; four sisters: Mary Johnson, Cynthia Corbin (Rodney) of Hague, VA, Oshana Hayden (Marvin) of Montross, VA, and Or’Sasha Moss (Leon) of Virginia Beach, VA; like a sister, Recee Kelly of Tappahannock, VA; two brothers-in-law, Robert Wilson of Baltimore, MD and Roland Wilson of Hague, VA; five sisters-in-law, Lillian O’Carroll of Baltimore, MD, Mary T. Wilson and Linda Powell of Westmoreland, VA, Frances Garner of Tappahannock, VA, and Joyce Wilson of Washington, DC; three aunts, Sarah Ball (Thomas), and Eliza Henry of Hague, VA, and Gladys Henry of Tappahannock, VA; uncle, Jerry Henry (Cheryl) of Callao, VA; great-uncle, Moses Brooks (Alberta) of Fredericksburg, VA; favorite cousin, Carl Jones of Westampton, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Pastor Connie was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Dennis Brooks.
 

Pastor Connie Wilson Co-founding Pastor of the Community of Light Ministries entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 8 at her residence.

Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, March 13 at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of Zion Baptist Church, 1274 Zion Church Road, Kinsale, Virginia.

Viewing of remains will be on Sunday, March 12 from 4PM until 6PM in the sanctuary of the Community of Light Ministries, 72 Coles Point Road, Hague, Virginia 22469 and from 10AM until Service time on Monday at Zion Baptist Church.
