Patricia “Sissy” A. Pierce

Patricia Ann “Sissie” Lewis Pierce was born on January 12, 1959, in Westmoreland County Virginia to the late Walter and Hilda Lewis. On Sunday, July 21, 2024 at approximately 5:35 p.m., she transitioned from her earthly season to her eternal season with the Heavenly Father at VCU Hospital in Richmond, VA. 

Sissie was preceded in death by her father,Walter Sr.; mother, Hilda; and brothers, Harvey and Walter Jr. 

Sissie was educated through the Westmoreland County School System. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Potomac Baptist Church. She later transferred her membership to Galilee Baptist Church. While at Galilee Baptist she served in several capacities to include: Usher Board, Culinary Department, Gospel Ensemble, Senior Choir, Deaconess Ministry and Youth Choir. She worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Washington, DC where she retired in 1994. She also held other jobs upon retirement. 

Sissie was a wonderful gift from GOD. She adored and loved her family members. She loved to have a good time and could always give you a good laugh. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She could most often be sighted at 7-11 getting a small coffee with one cream and three splendas. She will be missed by all that loved her. We will forever miss her presence and will forever cherish all of the fond memories we shared. We offer eternal thanks to GOD for blessing us with the 65 years that we had with her here on earth. 

Cherishing her lovely memories are daughter, Alicia Ann Pierce; son, Sterling Wayne Pierce Jr. (Melanie); grandchildren: (who she loved to hear them call her Nana), Devonta Rashard Pierce and Nevaeh Monae Pierce; sisters, Barbara Green (Timmy, deceased) and Gladys Jones (Paul, deceased); brother, Joseph Lewis (Pearl); sister-in-law, Trithena; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, associates and extended family.

A viewing for Patricia A. “Sissy” Pierce will be on Wednesday, July 31 from 4PM until 6PM in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.
