Pearl E. Jackson Peyton departed this life on Monday, July 4, 2022, at the residence of her mother.

On January,16, 1967, an “Angel” Pearl E. Jackson was born in Westmoreland County, Va. On July 4th, 2022, God said, “Well done thy good and faithful servant,” and Deaconess Pearl E Jackson Peyton was called to reunite with her late husband Horace Dale Peyton.  

At a very early age Pearl accepted Christ. She joined Grants Hill Baptist Church. She received her education in the Westmoreland County Public School System, where she graduated from Washington and Lee High School in 1987. Deaconess Pearl always had a caring and loving heart for others which led her to pick her lifetime career of becoming a nurse directly out of High School. She worked all over the Northern Neck for 30 plus years. During her career fell in love with Horace Dale Peyton and the two later were married. They were together for over 30 plus years.

Deaconess Pearl held many positions in the Church. She served as President of the Deaconess Board, Superintendent of Sunday School, Treasurer of the Westmoreland Sunday School, Financial Secretary of the NNBA Berean Sunday School Commission, Vice President of the Usher Board, and Assistant Secretary of the Missionary.

Deaconess Pearl is  survived by her parents, Bertha Roy and Alexander Roy Sr.; her only child, Keyonna Jackson; her only grandson, Benjamin Harrison Brooks lll (also known as Nanny’s Man); her unborn granddaughter, Perrella Elizabeth Brooks; her son “ in love”, Benjamin Brooks Jr.;  two sisters, Karen Taylor (Eric Palmer), Cathy Jackson (Andrew Smith); two brothers, Alexander Roy Jackson Jr. (Leslie), Kenneth Roy; two nieces Latisha Brooks, Carroll (Lorenzo), Jasmine Jackson; four nephews, Alexander Jackson Jr., Gary Ball Jr., Kenneth Roy Jr., Jeremiah Taylor; three great nephews, Lorenzo Carroll Jr, Langston Carroll, and Milo Lee; two brothers-in-law, Glen Peyton and Steven Taylor; two sisters-in-law,  Linda Peyton and Shirley Mae; aunt, Dorothy Webb;  three uncles, John Jackson, Eddie Jackson, and Willard Roy; and a host of cousins and great cousins, colleagues and friends. 

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022, at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of the Galilee Baptist Church, 20461 Kings Highway, Montross, Virginia.

Interment will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery, Foxhall Road, Oak Grove, Virginia.

Remains may be viewed from 4PM until 6PM on Sunday, July 10, 2022, in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME and from 11AM until service time on Monday at Galilee Baptist Church.
