Vincent Morrison was born on February 17, 1933 to the late Edgar Newton and Inez Hackett Morrison in Washington, DC.

He was educated in the Westmoreland County school system. He joined Lively Hope Baptist Church in Callao, VA where he served as a member of the Trustee Board. He also loved attending the House of Prayer Gospel Assembly in Warsaw, VA.

Vincent joined the United States Army achieving the rank of Private First Class and was given an honorable discharge on April 26, 1955 from Korea. He returned to Westmoreland County and married Margie L. Dean of Oldhams, VA. To this union three children were born, Joan, Christine, and Alvin Morrison.

In his early years, Vincent was employed as a fisherman, construction worker and with Virginia Paving until his health began to fail. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, and cards games such as solitaire and pinochle. His favorite football team was the Washington Redskins. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time in fellowship with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Inez Hackett Morrison; father, Edgar Newton; brothers, Robert Newton, Oscar Morrison, Brigadier General Alonzo L. Ferguson; grandson, Troy Morrison; foster sister, Bertha Richmond; sister-in-law, Helen Newton Spates; Mattie Dixon, James Newton, and Fran Ferguson.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories two daughters, Joan M. Ball (Wayne) and Christine M. Campbell (Raymond); son, Vincent Alvin Morrison; three grandchildren, Stephanie Morrison, Ashley Veney, and Shaquille Muse; one great-grandson, Kai Roper; two foster sisters, Florine Newton Thompson and Hazel N. Crabbe; foster brother, Lucius Newton; sister-in-law, Pauline Morrison of Arizona; special friends, Martha Gray, Alex Brown, Richard Mahoney; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends

Funeral service for Vincent Morrison of Montross, Virginia who departed this life on Monday, January 24, 2022, will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of the House of Prayer Gospel Assembly, 18061 Historyland Highway, Warsaw, Virginia.

Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, 1310 Erica Road, Montross,Virginia.

Mr. Morrison may be viewed from 11AM until service time on Tuesday at the House of Prayer Gospel Assembly.
