Rachel Brooks Gordon

Rachel Conell Brooks-Gordon, daughter of the late George Ellis Brooks, Sr., and Rachel Elizabeth Peyton-Brooks was born on September 21, 1963.

Rachel was educated in the Westmoreland County, Virginia public school system. She was baptized in her adulthood under fellowship with New Monrovia Baptist Church, Colonial Beach, Virginia.

Rachel enjoyed spending time with her family and friends whether it was cooking for them, listening to music, reminiscing on the good old days, or just sharing laughs while sitting under the tree in front of her home at Riverwood Apartments in Colonial Beach, Virginia.

Quietly on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in King George, Virginia, Rachel entered eternal rest. Preceding her in death were her mother, Rachel Elizabeth Brooks; father, George Brooks, Sr.; brothers: Antonio Brooks, Steve Brooks, Nathaniel Brooks, Theodore Peyton, and William Johnson.

Cherishing her memory are her children: Tonya Brooks of Montross, Virginia and Roderick Brooks (LeAnn) of Colonial Beach, Virginia. Grandchildren: Janay Barnes and Jaziah Brooks of Montross, Virginia; Mercedes and Alencia Brooks of Richmond, Virginia; Aariah Brooks of Colonial Beach, Virginia. Brothers: Benjamin Brooks, Sr. of Lancaster, Virginia; Curvin Brooks (Dorine) of Lancaster, Virginia; George Brooks, Jr. of King George, Virginia; Larry Brooks, Sr. (Burldine) of Tappahannock, Virginia; Curtis Omar Brooks of Montross, Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. 

Funeral Services for Rachel Brooks Gordon will be held on Monday, October 9 at 11AM in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME, interment will follow in the Brooks Family Cemetery, Grainery Road, Montross, Virginia.

Viewing will be on Sunday, October 8 from 5PM until 7PM and from 10AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
