Rachel Elizabeth Peyton Brooks

Rachel Elizabeth Peyton Brooks was born on September 26, 1937, to the late Randolph and Carrie Peyton in King George, Virginia. She entered into eternal rest at VCU Health Tappahannock Hospital on July 19, 2021.

Rachel attended public schools in King George County. She was baptized early in life and became a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in King George, VA.

Rachel was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to the whole community. She loved to cook. She worked at Stratford Hall for many, many years.

She was the wife of the late George Brooks.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to sons, George Brooks, Theodore Peyton,William Johnson (Francine), Benjamin Brooks, Sr., Larry Brooks Sr. (Burldine), Calvin Brooks (Dorine), and Omar Brooks; daughter, Rachel Brooks; sisters, Charlotte Richards, Rebecca Mitchell, and Thelma Johnson; brother, Willis Peyton; daughter-in-law, Verlene Brooks; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great, great-grandchildren; devoted friend, Harold Fisher; caregiver, Jacquelyn Ball; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends

Funeral services for Rachel E. Brooks of Montross, Virginia will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 11 AM in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME.

Interment will follow in the Brooks Family Cemetery, Grainery Road, Montross, Virginia.

Her remains may be viewed from 4PM until 6PM on Thursday, July 22, 2021 and from 10AM until service time on Friday in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME..
