The book of life closed gently for Ms. Sally Mae Brooks on January 18, 2023 in Montross, Virginia. Ms. Sally Mae Brooks was born in Montross, VA to the late Mr. Oscar Brooks and the late Mrs. Sophia Elizabeth Brooks on October 27, 1918. She received her education from Westmoreland County Public Schools and joined Siloam Baptist Church at a young age professing Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Thereafter, she served on the usher board.
Ms. Brooks was truly a loving and caring person and the epitome of the “Proverbs 31 woman”. In addition, she was truly an unselfish individual with a tenacious spirit who loved to give to others. She was a woman of much faith and could be often heard saying, “It was nobody but the LORD that bought me thus far”. She worked for Stratford Hall for many years as a domestic engineer and held various jobs throughout the Northern Neck.
Blessed with pleasant memories and love for her are: daughter, Edith Kelly (Victor), and grandchildren: Timothy Kelly, Steven Kelly (Terita), Stacey Kelly (Cassie) and Vivian Kelly and great grandchildren: Stacee, Tyler, Kammy, Shawn, Katrina and Phillip. Also a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces have her legacy to cherish.
