Sarah Fisher Lee

Sarah Fisher Lee departed this life and took her flight on November 8, 2022, at the Carrington Place in Tappahannock, VA.

Sarah was born April 21, 1933, in Westmoreland County, VA. She was raised by her grandmother, Janie Fisher and her aunt, Kate Brown. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and worked diligently in the church and community until her health began to fail. Her love for being a part of the church is known by many who can recall how Sarah walked to and from church services.

Sarah worked many years being employed by F. H Tubman, Dr. Charles Griffith, and also shucked oysters.

She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Richard A. Lee for 56 years upon his death on March 8, 2014.

She leaves to cherish her memories: a close cousin, Howard Fisher; brother-in-law, Calvin Lee (Susie); two sisters-in-law, Gladys Wilson and Shirley Lee (Clifton); two dear friends Emma Ashton and Emma Usual; a loving caregiver while in her home, Frances Jones; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 18 at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of the Salem Baptist Church, 1310 Erica Road, Montross, Virginia.

Interment will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 1274 Zion Church Road, Kinsale, Virginia.

Remains may be viewed from 10AM until service time on Friday at Salem Baptist Church.
