William J. Fauntleroy, affectionately known as “Bill”, was born May 5, 1955, in Westmoreland County, Virginia to the late Myrtle and William Fauntleroy.
Bill was educated in the Westmoreland County School. Bill accepted Christ and was baptized at Zion Baptist Church at an early age.
Bill retired from Potomac Supply in Kinsale, Virginia. He also retired from Bevans Oyster Co.
Bill was a diehard “COWBOYS” fan, although he fussed about them year after year. He always looked forward to his birthday so he could enjoy dinner with his twin sister, Lill Yerby. He also dotted on his grandchildren. He spoke highly of each of them and he loved his entire family.
Bill departed his life at home on May 10, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and William Fauntleroy; ex-wives, Clarissa E. Yerby Fauntleroy and Mollie Gray Fauntleroy; seven brothers: Norman Garner, Carl Garner, Charles Campbell, Richard Campbell, Harold Fauntleroy, Carroll Fauntleroy, and Samuel Fauntleroy; one grandchild, JeNoah Thompson; and brother-in-law, William Henry.
Bill leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Ms. Margaret Smith; one son, Mr. Gregory Fauntleroy; three bonus daughters: Ms. Nicole Gray, Ms. Nikita Gray, and Ms. Latoya Gray; fifteen grandchildren: Arial Braxton, Gregory Braxton, Sole’ Fauntleroy, Trauminique Gray, Syncere Gray, Heavenly Thompson, I’Lalen Thompson, Laloni Gray, Antonia Hillary, Earrin Gray, Taheria Gray, Tinia Gray, Tamysinae Brown, Thimothy Brown III, Jarees Commoch Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Palmer and Schryn Gray; eight sisters: Mary F. Kelly, Deloris Wright (Herbert), Gloria Brooks (Rev. Frank), Eliza Henry, Lillian Yerby (Samuel), Annie Richards (Rev. John), Brenda Pratt (Randy), and Rev. Clara Smith; uncle, Floyd Campbell; sister-in-law, Joyce Campbell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
A Funeral Service for William "Bill" Fauntleroy will be held on Friday, May 24 at 12 Noon in the sanctuary of the Rappahannock Church of Christ, 4324 Richmond Road, Warsaw, Virginia.
Interment will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, 1274 Zion Church Road, Kinsale, Virginia.
Remains may be viewed from 4PM until 6PM on Thursday, May 23 in the chapel of the WELDON-FISHER FUNERAL HOME and from 11AM until service time on Friday, May 25 at Rappahannock Church of Christ.
