Trustee Keith Ball Obituary

Trustee Keith Cardell Ball gained his wings on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his residence in Warsaw, Virginia. He was born on August 30, 1966, to the late Lewis Fairfax Ball and Barbara Jean Ball.

At an early age, Keith confessed his faith in the Lord and joined Zion Baptist Church, Kinsale, VA. He later moved his membership to Second Baptist Church in 2011. Keith served as a Trustee and on the Men’s Ministry. Keith was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church even when his health started to decline.

He received his education in Westmoreland Public Schools. Keith then went out into the world of work finding only one job that he grew to love and it was Le-Hy Paving, Richmond, VA, for over 20 years.

To know Keith was to love him. He was a diehard Redskins/Commanders and a New York Yankees fan. He also loved racing, hunting, fishing, and lets not forget...yard selling. When Keith would go fishing he would clean, bag, and deliver the fish out into the community, especially to the elderly. One of his greatest pastimes was talking on the phone. Only to be down the hall
talking but you could hear his whole conversation throughout the house.

In 1996, Keith met the love of his life “Sandy” and they married in 2011. Keith was known to many as Ball, Pop-pop, or dad. He was the glue that held the family together and he had no problem telling you about yourself, respectfully. He was a man of many words yet he never took small things for granted. Keith made sure you knew you were important and that you were loved.

He was preceded in death by his father Lewis Fairfax Ball and grandmothers Delores Ball and Essie Smith.

He leave to cherish his memories his wife, Sandra Ball; children: Paulette Gray, Tamara Gray, Anthony Gray, Ashley Gaines (Christopher), Brandon Gray, Brendon Gray and adopted son, Howard Plummer Jr.; grandchildren: Kelvonté Ellis, Demeriah Holmes, Juwane Veney, Amarion Veney, Kendra Gray, Elijah Gray, Kamryn Chainam, Breelyn Chainam, Javion and Omarian Plummer; brothers, Lewis Ball and Darryl Turner (Nikki); sisters, Beverly Lovelace, Kimberly Turner (Alvin), and Tanena Henry (James); brothers-in-law, Minister Michael Gray (Marlene), James “BoBo” Gray; sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Gray; aunts: Nita Wallace, Delois Jackson, Doris Coward (Llordy), Henrietta Newman, Millverte Ball, Jacquline Ball, Lottie McCoy; uncles: Larry Smith, Ben Smith, Albert Ball, William Ball (Frances), Larry Ball (Debbie), Clay Ball (Altoria); great aunts, Dorothy Jones and Sarah Samuels; special friends: Roger Thompson, Johnny Johnson, Tommy Bunns, Larry Richardson, Nathaniel Fortune, and Keith Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
